Hospitaller Region - Syracuse

Syracuse News & Activities

The Syracuse area group of the Federal Association has been growing slowly and steadily since the early 1990’s, and there are currently 18 Knights and Dames in the region. Kathleen Mezzalingua was named Regional Hospitaller in 2005, succeeding Dr. Paul Fallon and Dennis Owen. Noreen Falcone has served on the Association’s Board of Directors and as the Hospitaller and Chancellor since 1999. Suzanne Congel and Mr. Owen have served on the Board of Directors.

The centerpiece of the Order’s activity in Syracuse is Malta House, a state-of-the-art residence for the frail elderly in North Syracuse. Joining Malta House is the Sally Coyne Center for Independence, which includes the Federal Association Health Clinic, and a physical therapy center. Completing the complex is Malta Manor, a second assisted living facility for the frail elderly. Knights, Dames, and candidates are also volunteering at the Franciscan Northside Ministry, the Westside Healthcare Clinic, and the Franciscan Northside Ministry Clinic.
