Hospitaller Region - New Orleans
There are 47 members of the Federal Association living in Louisiana. The largest concentration is in the New Orleans area. Dr. Robert Cangelosi is the Regional Hospitaller for the area. He succeeds Jane Nalty, who also served on the Association’s Board of Directors, as have Paul Nalty, John Charbonnet, Jim Kelly, and, currently, John Becker. The Most Reverend Alfred Hughes, the recently retired Archbishop of New Orleans is a chaplain of the Order, as are retired Archbishops Hannan and Schulte and Father Thomas Chambers.
The New Orleans Knights and Dames have been the primary sponsors of three assisted living facilities – Malta Park and Malta Square at Sacred Heart, and Malta Court at Holy Angels. All three are state-of-the-art residences for low-income elderly.
Members of the Order (and their families) who are interested in participating in one of these activities should contact the Regional Hospitaller. The phone/fax number is available in Federal Association Directory.
