Hospitaller Region - Hartford
Hartford was designated a “Hospitaller City “ in 2004. There are 22 Knights and Dames in the Hartford area. Jean-Pierre (J.P.) van Rooy is the Regional Hospitaller. The primary project of the Hartford group is the development, sponsorship, and assistance to the Malta House of Care Mobile Clinic. Since 2006, the mobile clinic has provided free primary health care to over 12,000 of Hartford’s poor. This includes pharmaceutical and diagnostic testing needs of the patients.
A new activity of feeding of the poor is being planned for 2011 at St Justin Parish located in the North End of Hartford.
The Hartford group is now affiliated to the American Association of CT , which allows all its members, while remaining part of the Federal Association to participate in their activities.
Members of the Order (and their families) who are interested in participating in one of these activities should contact the Regional Hospitaller. The phone/fax number is available in Federal Association Directory.
- Most of the Knights and Dames volunteer with the Malta House of Care Foundation which supports the Malta House of Care and other future projects.
All members of the Order (and their families) are most cordially invited to participate in these spiritual activities.
