The Grants Program

The Grants Program—supported by the Federal Association Annual Fund—is the vehicle by which the Order is made known to the world. Grants are made to deserving and well-vetted programs that are providing a direct and tangible service to the poor and the sick both in the United States and around the world. These grants—made possible solely through gifts to the Annual Fund—often represent the face of the Order to those in regions beyond the reach of the Knights and Dames. The gifts are used carefully to leverage financial, material, and organizational resources as judiciously as possible.

The Federal Association considers grant requests sponsored by members who must have first-hand knowledge of the proposed project vis-à-vis its service to the poor and the sick. The sponsor must be able to attest to the worthiness and effectiveness of the program. The Association gives preference to those requests wherein a member of the Order is actively involved as a volunteer.

Nearly all the grants sent internationally are made to countries in Central America and the Caribbean Basin—facilitated by ease and cost-effectiveness of shipping and by the strength of the Association’s relationships with confrères within these regions.
